Double Header/League Decider at Countesswells this Saturday

6 months ago By Ciaran Marshall

1st XV could secure Caley 1 title with victory over Caithness

The big games keep coming for Gordonians with a potential BT Caledonia Division 1 league decider at Countesswells for our 1st XV this Saturday, kick off 3pm.

Second placed Caithness are the visitors, only 5 points behind Gordonians but having played one game more. Victory for the 1st XV will secure the title and promotion to the national leagues. The current table can be found here.

Commenting on the game ahead, captain Tom Williams said "the game against Caithness will certainly be challenging, but there is a determination within the team to drive forward with our seasons ambition, which is to gain promotion to National 3. This will be the fitting end to what has been a terrific season and sets up our preparations for national league introductions."

An afternoon of rugby at Countesswells kicks off at 12:30 with the 2nd XV hosting Aberdeen Wanderers 2nd XV in a local derby, in what should be a highly competitive game following the tight 10-5 victory to Gordonians when the two teams met in January.

As always, we encourage as many supporters to come along to Countesswells on Saturday and all will be made most welcome at the Seafield Club for what we hope will be post-match celebrations.
